Planting his roots in Sydney several years ago, and recently having moved to Byron, Brazilian born Fernando brings with him the funky rhythms of South America which he has combined with the acoustic folk rock of the Australian coast to create a unique fusion of rustic roots/folk/soul with the samba funk feel of modern Brazilian flavour. His dynamic live offering is unique not only in sound, but also in style. As an experienced drummer and percussionist Fernando incorporates live beats and rhythmic element with dub sounds, delay pedals and a loop station to produce a full and uninhibited acoustic set. His solo (and sometimes duo) project 'Animal Ventura' has seen great success of late when he supported The Beautiful Girls on their east coast oz tour.

Whether it’s shaking a dance floor with his samba style or simply grooving away with solid laid back tunes, Fernando displays an incredible ability to capture his audience and guide them on a unique musical journey influenced from all parts of the globe.
